WEIMAR — The Weimar Independent School District Board of Trustees recently called for an order for a School Building Bond Election for Nov, 3, for up to $15 million.
The bond election will have two propositions for voters to consider.
Proposition A is a $12 million bond for the construction, renovation, improvement, expansion, and equipping of school facilities. Renovations will include the elementary and high school, with improvements to parking lots, student drop-off, the gymnasium, the band hall, and the Career and Technical Education facility.
Proposition B is for $13 million for improvements to the district athletic stadium, baseball, football
and softball facilities.
Weimar ISD notes that, based on the district's financial position, it does not anticipate an increase in the current tax rate.
They also stated there will be community forums where members can learn more about the proposed projects. A dedicated webpage on the WISD website will provide information about the bond.
