Arrests made in jugging investigation

The Austin County Sheriff’s Office announced it has made four arrests following an investigation involving four individuals in a jugging crime.

Jugging is a criminal act where individuals are targeted as they leave a bank or other business. The criminals often watch or follow the victim before robbing the victim or stealing cash or valuables from the victim's vehicle.

The Austin County Special Investigations Unit (SIU) was investigating and monitoring certain individuals believed to be linked to this type of crime and to a Texas- based crew known for stealing catalytic converters and engaging in jugging offenses.
