Chamber Chat

As summer winds down and we roll into the “ber” months, it’s a wonderful time to look ahead at all that is happening in our community. The coming months are filled with events, activi ties, and opportunities to get involved…all designed to bring people together, showcase our local businesses, and celebrate the unique spirit that makes Columbus such a special place to work and call home.

School is back in session, which means fall sports are officially underway! We encourage everyone to get out and support our local students, athletes, coaches, and schools. There is nothing quite like the energy and pride that comes from cheering on our local teams!

And speaking of team spirit, the Chamber will soon be announcing the details for our annual Cardinal Spirit Contest! Local busi nesses will decorate their storefronts to show off their Cardinal pride and compete for the coveted traveling trophy, along with a full year of bragging rights! We can't wait to see the creativity and school spirit throughout our community.

Another fall tradition is just around the corner, the Colorado County Fair, Sept. 10–12! We encourage everyone to head out to the fairgrounds, enjoy the many activities, support our youth and exhibitors, and show your support for this wonderful annual event. The fair is a great opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the talents and hard work of Colorado County.

The Chamber is excited to welcome Southern Comfort & Mattress as they re- open their doors! Please join us for a Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, Sept. 3rd at 3:30 p.m., as we celebrate their reopening and this exciting new chapter. We hope you’ll come out and show your support!

We are also excited to welcome all our new Cham- ber members this month!

We truly appreciate your decision to join the Columbus Chamber of Commerce and look forward to getting to know you, supporting your business, and helping you connect with our community. Welcome to the Chamber…we’re glad to have you!

Mark your calendars for our next Quarterly Chamber Mixer, which will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 22nd, from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m, at Cavender Polaris. This event is open to Chamber members only and is a great opportunity to network, connect with fellow members, and enjoy some time together outside of the office.

We would also like to congratulate Brette Wicke and Lakesha "Nikki" Up son, who were recently voted to serve on the Columbus Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. We are excited to welcome them to the Board and look forward to the ideas, energy, and commitment they will bring to the Chamber.

As we move into this busy and exciting season, we encourage everyone to shop local, support local businesses, attend community events, and get involved. By participating, supporting, and collaborating, we continue to strengthen the bonds that make our town resilient, connected, and united.

From all of us at the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, we’re looking ahead to Labor Day and wishing everyone a safe, happy, and enjoyable Labor Day week -

end!

We hope you enjoy some well-deserved time with family and friends as we wrap up summer and head into the busy and exciting “ber” months.

Shelley Janik, Executive Director
