Community groups treat SISD teachers and staff to luncheon

SEALY - What has be come an annual local backto- school complimentary appreciation luncheon for Sealy Independent School District (SISD) teachers and staff took place on Aug. 5, at the Sealy ISD Junior High School Cafeteria, with 450 plates served to all attendees.

For several years, the two collaborators of this now-annual event have been Ralph Bond of Grace Fellowship Sealy and Robert Kent, deacon at Immaculate Conception Church in Sealy. Both drew on numerous volunteers from Grace Fellowship Sealy and organizations from Immaculate Conception, along with other businesses in the community, who have made various contributions to make this event possible.

Bill’s Grocery of Sealy assisted in cutting and seasoning the pork steaks for subsequent grilling by members of Sealy Knights of Columbus Council 3313. The Sealy KCs also prepared and provided the sides of mashed potatoes and green beans.
