For a team that struggled last year and was way better than it said on paper, this could be the breaking point for a Rice team that’s very well coached and very athletic. Rice High School football was victorious in their first game of the 2026 season with a come-frombehind win vs Wheatley High School after being down 18-6 with seven minutes to go in the game.
Rice quarterback Kor'dae Johnson had 15 completions on 23 attempts for 100 yards and two touchdowns. He also had nine carries for 68 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Another big performer was Ta'rell Tarver with six catches for 39 yards and a touchdown.
