St. John's Episcopal Church at 915 Travis St. in Columbus was the recipient of the Columbus Garden Club September Community Beautification Award. The churchyard are purple heart, Rose of Sharon and multiple ferns. Bugleweed surrounds the oak base, along with leopard plant and lily turf. Lining the side of the sanctuary, are juniper, Mealy Cup Sedge, Anacua, spider plants, Longstalk Sedge, and vincas. At the sitting area are shell ginger and Longstalk Sedge. Near the historical marker lies a garden with lantana and Slender Goldshower. Facing Preston Street are elephant ears and crepe myrtles.
