BELLVILLE - The Bellville High School volleyball team defeated Giddings High School in three sets September 22 at Brahmas Gym by a final score of 25-16, 25-13, 25-12. Bellville controlled this game for it’s entirety and looked solid on both sides of the ball in order to get the sweep.
“I think our girls have been practicing a lot,” said Bellville head volleyball coach Susan Brewer. “We’ve started off with Sealy and we’ve played La Grange. We think Giddings is a strong contender. We were pumped for them to come play in this gym. It was Little Brahmanette Night and with all the little eyes on us, I think it really lit the girls up. They played extremely well. I thought we served well and just did our jobs.”
Brahmanettes junior outside hitter Kinleigh Dinges was productive on offense for the entire match and racked up a bunch of kills in each set. She also notched the game-winning point. “I think we just worked well at moving the ball around,” Dinges said. “When one person would get a kill, we would all get excited. It was really just momentum that got us going. Especially in the third set. Last game, we really had it running.”
