Thank you to all the citizens of Austin County who signed the petition that was circulating in Austin County calling on Governor Abbott to call for an EMERGENCY SPECIAL SESSION to address data centers.
The petitions were picked up October 1st, and copies of the petition will be sent to Governor Abbott and Senator Lois Kolkhorst. Austin County’s voices will be heard.
Perhaps you have noticed that Governor Abbott is voicing concern regarding data centers. Still, until he calls for an EMERGENCY SPECIAL SESSION, none of his expressions of concern nor limited regulations will actually ban data centers, battery energy storage systems, 765kV lines, large scale power generation facilities like nuclear plants, wind and solar farms, and other related data center facilities.
