WEIMAR — The Friends of the Weimar Public Library will present the final author at 10 a.m., on Oct. 16, at the Weimar Library. Blake Pfeffer’s Shout from the Republic brings us the larger-than-life history of our great state, reminding us of the cost, value, and ongoing maintenance cost of freedom.
Pfeffer is a native Houston- based Texan but continues to manage and develop the Waller County family farm that traces its title back to Jared Groce’s “Old Three Hundred" grant, a founda tional part of Texas history.
With his brother, Kirk, he works to maintain his family’s history that goes back to Noah Smithwick, a participant in the revolution, and later a Texas Ranger.
