LA GRANGE – Fayette Electric Cooperative joined local students at the Fayette County Fairgrounds on Oct.

6 for Progressive Ag Safety Day, providing a hands-on electrical safety demonstration designed to help young people recognize hazards and make safe decisions around electricity. During the event, the cooperative's safety coordinator, linemen, and apprentice linemen used FEC's high-voltage safety trailer to show fifth-grade students the real dangers associated with power lines and electrical equipment.

Progressive Ag Safety Day brings together community organizations and industry professionals to teach students important safety lessons they can apply at home, at school, and throughout their lives. Fayette Electric Cooperative's presentation focused on electrical safety awareness, an important topic for rural communities where children may encounter overhead power lines, utility equipment, farm machinery, and other electrical infrastructure.
