October Community Garden Club Winners
The home of Louis and Delores Minis at 1607 Rampart of Columbus received the Columbus Garden Club Yard of the Month for October. They have put considerable time into cultivating the thick grass and tending to the hibiscus, periwinkles, and trumpet flowers. A beautiful syca more tree in front and center in the yard is surrounded by periwinkles and various ferns, along with some fun Halloween yard art. The mailbox is surrounded by periwinkles and several full spider plants. A peek at their tropical paradise in the backyard revealed a lovely Koi pond.
The Columbus Garden Club Community Beautification Award for October when to Sherry Tucker and Christine McBride, the visionaries behind Magnolia Society, located at 920 Milam in Columbus. This month passersby are treated to corn stalks, scarecrows and lots of various shapes and sizes of pumpkins. The front flower bed has hawthorns, vincas, and well-mani cured crepe myrtles.
