Urglar, alias the Hamburglar, a long-ago burglar of ham- burgers that some may remember. Word from confiden tial sources says she should stick to being a cop because that is not Hamburglar. Starting back in 2011, law enforcement began organizing casual coffee shop gatherings to connect more personally with residents. These friendly meetups help reduce barriers, foster trust, and encourage open communication within the community. The idea is to share neighborhood concerns, allow residents to ask questions, and help them learn more about police work in a relaxed setting.

There will be more opportunities to get to know your friend, the police, as more meetings such as this are being planned. Local law enforcement asks that you come on by next time, have some coffee and donuts, and just hang out.

Yes, the cops did have coffee and donuts to share, but they also had something else that needs to be had in Colorado County and beyond - getting to know your officers. Officers were at McDonald's in Columbus for Coffee with a Cop on Oct. 9. Law enforcement officers enjoying the time are, from left, Colorado County Officers Lt. Andrew Weido, Captain Wendy Alley, Lt.
