Chamber events celebrate community, shopping local and welcoming the holiday season
November Happenings with the Columbus Chamber of Commerce: Celebrating Community, Shopping Local & Welcoming the Holiday Season! November is here, and the holiday season is just around the corner! The Columbus Chamber of Commerce is excited about the wonderful events ahead as we prepare to celebrate this special time of year in our beautiful town.
First, we would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our second annual Trick or Treat Around the Track! What a wonderful evening filled with costumes, candy, smiles, and community spirit! The event was a great success, and we couldn't have done it without the businesses, organizations, volunteers, and families who helped make it such a fun, safe, and memorable experience for the children. As we welcome the holiday season, we want to remind everyone of the importance of shopping local and supporting the businesses that make our community so special.
Mark your calendars for Shop Small Saturday on Nov.
28! This is the perfect opportunity to explore our local shops, discover unique gifts, enjoy our local restaurants, and get a jump start on your Christmas shopping! When you shop local, you're doing more than simply making a purchase.
You're supporting your neighbors, helping small businesses thrive, creating local jobs, and keeping our community strong. Our local businesses are the heart of Columbus, and every dollar spent locally makes a difference. This holiday season, let's show our local businesses some love and remember, when you shop small, you make a BIG difference!
And speaking of the holidays, the chamber is busy gearing up for two of our favorite annual Christmas traditions!
Be sure to SAVE THE DATES!
Lighted Christmas Parade – Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. There's nothing quite like seeing downtown Columbus sparkle with Christmas lights and holiday cheer! Our annual Lighted Christmas Parade is a wonderful way to kick off the Christmas season and bring our community together. Everyone is welcome to participate in the parade, including businesses, organizations, churches, families, and individuals. Whether you have a beautifully deco- rated float, a festive vehicle, or a creative Christmas entry, we would love for you to join us! Simply call the chamber at 979-732-8385 to sign up.
Ladies Night Out – Thursday, Dec. 3, from 4 to 9 p.m.
Grab your friends and enjoy an evening of holiday shopping, wine sampling, festive food, horse-drawn carriage rides, photo opportunities, vendors, and plenty of Christmas cheer!
Commemorative wine glasses and shopping bags will be available for $25 beginning Nov. 16 at the chamber office, located at 425 Spring St. Ladies Night Out is one of our favorite holiday traditions and a wonderful opportunity to gather with friends, support our local businesses, and find those perfect Christmas gifts.
Booth spaces are available at the historic Stafford Opera House and on the Courthouse Square. Booth participation is open to Columbus Chamber of Commerce members only.
If you're a chamber member interested in reserving a booth, please contact the chamber of- fice at 979-732-8385 for more information.
We are looking forward to both of these wonderful holiday events and hope everyone will come out to celebrate the season with us! These traditions are made even more special by the businesses, volunteers, and community members who come together year after year to make Columbus such a wonderful place to live, work, shop, and visit.
Finally, as Thanksgiving approaches, the Columbus Chamber of Commerce would like to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!
We are truly thankful for our chamber members, local businesses, community partners, volunteers, and residents who continue to support our organization and our beautiful town. May your Thanksgiving be filled with family, friends, gratitude, and blessings.
