COLORADO COUN - TY - Growing better qual - ity hay and pasture grass is a major goal for all hay and livestock producers.
Starting with a soil test is the most important step to determine the amount of fertilizer needed each year. Producers should consider soil testing as an invest -
ment in this year's hay and pasture, because the cor - rect amounts and timing of fertilization can greatly enhance hay quality and growth.
The time for Colorado County landowners to par - ticipate in the soil testing campaign for this year's hay meadows, pastureland and row crop fields is set now through Nov. 20. Soil samples submitted during this time will be $8 for a routine analysis and $15 for a routine analysis including micronutrients. Samples may be turned in to locations around Col - orado County: Bernardo Farm & Ranch; Colorado Feed; Eagle Lake Gener -
al Store; J&W Farm and Ranch; M-G Farm Service;
Sheridan Memorial Li-
brary; T&M Ranch Supply, or to the Extension Office
in Columbus. Soil sample bags & special information sheets are available at each of the locations.
