COLUMBUS – Colorado County Commissioner's Court met for their regular meeting on Oct 23. Judge Ty Prause read a resolution of recognition and appreciation to Susan Chandler of the Nesbitt Memorial Library for her diligence in coding the information to document the establishment of Colorado County. The resolution read in part: Susan Chandler of the Nesbitt Memorial Library shall be recognized for her diligence in locating the information to document the establishment date of Colorado County.

Busted burglars may clear up several in area
COLUMBUS – Colorado County Deputies were dispatched to Mikeska’s BBQ at 4053 US Highway 90 in reference to a burglary alarm on Oct. 23. While en route, Deputies observed a vehicle traveling from the direction of the business on US Highway 90 toward Columbus. Deputy Tyler Pavlicek stopped the vehicle for a defective equipment violation while Deputy Zane Blaha continued to the business.

Turtle Wings 11th Annual Monster Dash a success
SCHULENBURG – The 11th Annual Turtle Wing Monster Dash was held on Sunday, Sept. 22 in Schulenburg at Jack & Marys. The event included over 20 booths of local organiza tions handing out candy, putting on games, and giving out fun prizes. Adults and kids alike got to see who's the fastest in town in the Monster Dash Race, and the event concluded with a wonderful performance by On Pointe Dance Studio, featuring the amazing Dancing Turtles!
