Where’s the pot of gold?
Where's the pot of gold?
Legend has it that there is a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. Could it be just in those bushes? There doesn’t seem to be any Leprechauns around, either! This beautiful rainbow appeared on Sept. 1 near Columbus. Banner Press photo by John Jones 09/20/2023 23:00

Local DAR Chapter Helps St. Anthony’s Celebrate Constitution Week
Local DAR Chapter Helps St. Anthony’s Celebrate Constitution Week
Constitution Week was Sept. 17-23, which commemorated the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by thirty-nine brave men on Sept. 17, 1787. To this end, the John Everett Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) helped St. Anthony's Catholic School celebrate this event by donating a replica Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence for their school library. Joan Hill, librarian, was ex - cited to add these documents to their repository. Additionally, small packets were assembled for each student in Danette Can - tu's eighth grade history class. These packets consisted of a US flag, patriotic button, pen, sticky notes, a Preamble bookmark, and a pamphlet on the Constitution and its Amendments. One of the largest patriotic women's organizations in the world, DAR promotes historic preservation, education and pa - triotism. For information about DAR and its relevant mission contact Marti Herring, chapter regent, John Everett Chapter in Colum - 09/20/2023 23:00
