Colorado County Senior Connections gather at Stafford Opera House
COLUMBUS - The Colorado County Senior Connections (CCSC) continue to host a number of seniors who are 55 and older for fun, games and food. Starting the morning off at 10 a.m. with coffee, tea, cards and dominoes, seniors fellowship and eat lunch. It gets serious when the Bingo cards come out. Bob and Nancy Stiles of Columbus sponsor the month of August. Come into the air conditioning at the Stafford Opera House in Colubus every first and third Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It's a ll free.

Cold case murder victim identified after 47 years
The Colorado County Sheriff's Office received a call about human remains found near Sandy Creek on Shell Plant Road on July 17, 1976, in Sheridan. This case was initially investigated by Sher - iff "Doc" Mueller, Chief Deputy Jim Broussard, Investigator Bill Esterling, and Deputy James Brooks. Justice of the Peace Pct. 1, Judge Richard Schmidt, arrived and requested an autopsy at the Harris County Medi - cal Examiners' Office. COLUMBUS – The annual fundraiser for the Santa Claus Museum in Columbus received a boost when Santa dropped by Hound Song Brewing Co. in Columbus for a visit and checked in with several good kids and a few naughty adults.
