DAR surpasses one million members since its founding
COLUMBUS — This fall the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will surpass one million total members who have joined the organization since its founding in 1890.
The DAR is a women’s service organization whose members can trace their lineage to an individual who contributed to securing American independence during the Revolutionary War.
The John Everett DAR Chapter, based in Columbus, has welcomed 286 total members from all over the area since the chapter was founded in 1932. Most members live in Columbus but there are many from all over Texas.
John Everett Chapter is excited to join the National Society in celebrating the milestone of now million members by spotlighting local Daughters throughout its 87 year history.
