CES first ever science night big success

COLUMBUS — Columbus Elementary School hosted its very first Science Night on the evening of Monday, March 25 with overt 185 students and family members attending the event.

The event was coordinated by Traci Edman and Olivia Leyendecker, fifth grade science and social studies teachers at CES.

Science Night included several enriching science experiments, games, and activities focused on engaging the kids and their families while also piquing curiosity in the field of science.

Students and family members took advantage of creating density test tubes, churning and tasting homemade butter, building electrical circuits, playing space bingo, exploring science lab tools, casting votes for their favorite planet, competing in minute to win it games, testing the buoyancy of objects, and even taking “cellfies” with science laboratory props!
