Columbus family physician receives TAFP Presidential Award of Merit
THE WOODLANDS — The Texas Academy of Family Physicians presented its Presidential Award of Merit to Thomas E. Mueller, MD, of Columbus, at TAFP’s Annual Session and Primary Care Summit No. 9 in The Woodlands. TAFP President Rebecca Hart, MD, chose to honor him for his leadership and dedication to the specialty of family medicine. The award is given each year to those who show outstanding contributions to health care in Texas.
Hart began her career in La Grange with Mueller. “He started my journey of understanding that issues in family medicine stretched well beyond our practice,” Hart said. “Tom showed me through his mentorship that being involved in the TAFP is one major way we can, as family physicians, join together to help improve the health care system and the care of our patients.”
