Fayette County Narcotics K-9 Unit seizes 8 pounds of heroin
A Weslaco man was arrested and charged with possession of heroin Friday afternoon in a routine traffic stop on Interstate 10.
According to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Canine Unit, Sgt. Randy Thumann and K9 partner Kolt, stopped a Chevy 1500 pickup on I-10 at the 659 mile-marker at approximately 1:10 p.m.
After speaking to the driver, Thumann became suspicious that the vehicle may be involved in transporting illegal narcotics.
