Fayette Savings-Weimar breaks ground on new location
WEIMAR — If you’ve driven by 709 S. Eagle in Weimar recently, you’ve probably seen some big machines pushing around dirt as groundwork is underway for the new Fayette Savings Bank (FSB) location.
“After seemingly months of rainy weather, finally we’ve been blessed with drier conditions that allowed us to start construction,” said David Zapalac, CEO of FSB, who will be celebrating 38 years with the bank in May.
“We are fortunate to have Donald Grohmann serving as our construction superintendent on this job,” Zapalac said. “We are hoping to have a completion date by late December of this year, of course – weather permitting.”
The facility will have 2,320 square feet of inside space, two drive-thru lanes with an ATM machine you can drive up to and complete your transaction from your auto.
FSB President Wade Mozisek said “we have a strong customer base in Weimar that we’ve developed through the loan side of our business. Many who were pleased with our services have long expressed wishes that Fayette Savings Bank had a location in Weimar where they could do all their banking at.”
