Grand jury indicts former Bellville muncipal court judge for theft of property, tampering

BELLVILLE — An Austin County Grand Jury indicted former Bellville Municipal Court Judge Terri Resendez on Feb. 28 for theft of property in the amount of $30,000 to $150,000 and tampering with a governmental record.

Both charges are second-degree felonies punishable by two to 10 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.

Resendez, 59, was arrested for the indictment by law enforcement from the Austin County Sheriff’s Office on March 2 and posted a $20,000 bond.
