BASTROP Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative's Board of Directors unanimously voted to award $1,000 grants to all 63 fire departments that protect and serve communities in the cooperative's 14-county service area. These grants are in recognition of the outstanding job the departments have done this summer.
COLEMAN Chris Coleman and Dashae Collins of Columbus announce the birth of their son, Jeremiah Coleman, born Oct. 4 at 11:09 a.m. at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus. Jeremiah weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and measured 19 inches in length. He was welcomed home by his brother, Cason Coleman, 12; and his sister, Cole Coleman, 8. Grandparents are David and Odessa Collins of Columbus, and Ray and Deborah Coleman of Weimar.
LA GRANGE — After a last gasp for breath, St. Mark’s Hospital in La Grange will close its doors on Oct. 12. All hospital services and those services in the medical office building will be suspended at that time.
