COLUMBUS — Charles “Chuck” L. Rogers, Emergency Management Coordinator for Colorado County Office of Emergency Management reported the DSHS is now reporting “Probable Cases.”
As many are aware, our cumulative number of cases and deaths have unfortunately risen. But, so has the number of recovered cases. As of Tuesday, Austin County has 193 cases, 120 recovered reported and four deaths. The reason for the seemingly sudden rise in deaths is the change in the way the state is now reporting deaths. Previously, an investigation by an epidemiologist was required, now the death certificate is used to determine COVID deaths.
