CHARLES JAMES CRAWFORD

Charles James Crawford was born on May 19, 1929, to Cuver and Naomi McCloud in Meadow, Texas. After graduating from Burnet High School, Charles was drafted into the military, where he served in the US Army Signal Corps during the Korean War. Charles returned to Texas and graduated from Blinn College. Charles was employed with San Bernard Electric Cooperative Inc. for 41 years as a Member Service Manager. Charles was a lifetime member of the Bellville VFW Post 6522, Bellville American Legion, and Bellville General Hospital Auxiliary. Charles was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Bellville.
Charles met Grace Wagner, the love of his life, on a blind date in 1957, and they married in April 1959 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Shelby, Texas. Together, they recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Ralph, Herman, George, and his sister Louise. He is survived by his loving wife, Grace.
Memorials can be made to the Charles and Grace Crawford Endowed Scholarship at the Blinn College Foundation, 902 College Avenue, Brenham, TX 77833.
Charles's strong faith in God and his belief in His unlimited powers and mercies guided him in his decisions that carried him throughout his life.
Private funeral arrangements were entrusted to Knesek Family Funeral Chapels, Bellville, Texas.
