March 21, 1929 — August 25, 2025

Katherine “Kay” Mary Novak Frybert, 96, passed away on August 25, 2025 in Columbus, Texas. Katherine was born March 21, 1929, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Frank and Katarina Novak, the eighth of eleven children.

On October 15, 1955, she married Joe F. Frybert and together they resided in Eagle Lake, Texas, for 63 years.

Kay and Joe were members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (now Parish the Nativity in Eagle Lake) for their entire married life. There were not many topics that Kay did not have knowledge of or had not heard of due to her voracious reading. Kay loved her family fiercely and was a devout Catholic wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Left to cherish Kay’s memory are her 4 children: Suzanne M. Mazac (Dwight) of Columbus, Texas; Barbara Frybert Litzmann (Mark) of Sealy, Texas; Katherine F. Frybert of Rosenberg, Texas; Joe S. Frybert (Lora Turner) of Missouri City, Texas, as well as 4 grandchildren, their spouses and fiances, and 3 great-grandchildren.
