JUDITH FAYE WENDT LESCHPER

Services for Judith Faye Wendt Leschper, 81, of Sealy were held April 8 at Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel in Sealy. Burial followed at Sealy Cemetery. Leschper passed away April 3. She was born Nov. 23, 1937, in Bellville, the daughter of Kenneth Wendt and Ardona Wendt Balke. She graduated from Sealy schools and Blinn Junior College. Leschper was united in marriage with Walter Leschper Jr. on March 3, 1962. They made their home and raised their family in the Peters Community. They owned and operated a Guernsey Dairy Farm for many years then ran the Sealy Bus Station for a number of years. She also served as treasurer for Peters Hall & Austin County Gun Club, where she was the first woman to hold an office as well as one of the first female members. She enjoyed league bowling and was a longtime member of the Peters-Hacienda Friendship Club. She worked as a cook at Azalea Manor then Colonial Belle Nursing Home for 30 years. She loved to sew. She was an avid reader, loved history and doing crossword and other types of word puzzles. She was also an animal lover, especially cats. Leschper was preceded in death by her husband; parents; father-in-law and motherin-law, Walter Leschper Sr. and Mary Ludwig Leschper; brothers-in-law, Lee Roy Leschper, Leon Frank, Jerry Prince and Wibert Leschper; sisters-in-law, Janie Leschper, Maggie Leschper, Florence Leschper Frank and Waldine Wendt. Survivors include her daughters, Angela Leschper, and Alicia Leschper Farrell and husband Cecil; son, Andrew Leschper and wife Susan; grandchildren, Sara Leschper, Cathryn Farrell and Cecil Farrell Jr.; stepgrandchildren, Stephen Scott and Christine Gaitan; stepgreat-grandchildren, Chasidy Scott and husband Cyler Woytek, Devin Scott, Destiny Scott, Bailey Gaitan, Ashton Gaitan and Christian Gaitan; and stepgreat-greatgrandchild, Paisley Drew Woytek; She is also survived by her brothers, Marvin Wendt and fiancé Renee Mitschke, and Charles Wendt Sr.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys Leschper, Kenneth Leschper and wife Cleba, Adolph Leschper and wife Edna, Marilyn Leschper Prince, Doris Leschper Krolczyk and husband Clem, and Nelda Leschper Tamborello and husband Tommy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Mark Meloneck, Rodney Wendt, Stephen Scott, Joseph Jez, Jeff Krolcyzk and Rex Waxler. Honorary pallbearers were Mason Brandes and Gene Leschper.
