Columbus rushes past Randolph, 21-16
LOCKHART — Years ago, Robert Ringer wrote a bestselling book, Looking Out For #1. That could have been the title for both defenses in a hard-fought, area football playoff game between the Columbus Cardinals and the Universal City Randolph Ro-Hawks out of San Antonio at Lions Stadium in Lockhart. But the Cardinals prevailed beating the Ro-Hawks 21-16
Both teams relied a lot on the rushing attacks of their No. 1 running backs, who were No. 1 Jaden Arthur from Randolph and No. 1 Tyree Simcik from Columbus. Both running backs were hard to bring down as Arthur gained 157 yards on 27 carries for two touchdowns and Simcik gained 222 yards on 25 carries with two touchdowns.
