Sealy sophomore quarterback D’Vonne Hmielewski, 2, had a big night in Sealy’s 41-0 bi-district win over Orangefield last Thursday night in Huffman. Hmielewski passed for three touchdowns and 199 yards, caught a 51-yard touchdown pass and ran 7 yards for another score. Sealy will face Center in the area round of the playoffs Friday night in Waco. Sealy outside hitter Brylie Nedd, center, signs on to play volleyball at Blinn Junior College in Brenham. Nedd is flanked by her family, from left, brother Garret, father Brian, the signee, mother Amber and brother Colby. Nedd had a big hand in the Lady Tiger success as she served 111 aces, 1,065 kills, 75 blocks, 728 digs and 87 assists as a three-year Sealy starter. CELEBRATING THE CHAMPIONSHIP

The Sealy Tiger football team claimed the District 12-4A DII championship with a 56-14 win over the La Marque Cougars last Friday night in Texas City.
