Austin County State of the County given by Judge Lapham
SEALY – Austin County Judge Tim Lapham gave his State of the County address to a large crowd gathered June 7 at the Columbus Hall in Sealy. The Lunch -N- Learn was very informative and, as many know, Judge Lapham’s sense of humor was entertaining. He was texted by Jeff Virnau early morning of the luncheon. He said, “See you at the chamber meeting, hope we have a good speaker!” Judge Lapham replied, “Me, too!”

Bellville's Hatton resigns from head baseball duties; Morgan assigned position
Bellville High School head baseball coach Todd Hatton has resigned and assistant Ty Morgan has taken over the program. Hatton posted an overall record of 46-17-2 during his tenure at Bellville and it was reportedly his own decision to resign.

SAN MARCOS - Lions baseball won the first game of a playoff series with D'Hanis High School May 30 by a final score of 11-1 in five innings at Rattlers Field in San Marcos. Fayetteville scored right away and collected runs throughout the game while the pitching staff kept things intact. "With them, we always know it's gonna be a battle," said Fayetteville head baseball coach Clint Jaeger.

LA GRANGE – Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $1,000 to the La Grange Chapter of War on Drugs - Projection Graduation. Monies donated helped to fund an overnight bus trip for La Grange High School graduating seniors to a state university's recreational facility.
