LA GRANGE – La Grange Mayor Jan Dockery and Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller recently hosted a meeting at the Fayette County Courthouse in La Grange where they met with Andrew Ross, a representative of U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul and Jeff Williford and Jill Wyman, Regional representatives for U.S. Senator John Cornyn.

Vietnam Veterans honored during Vietnam War Veterans Day
RESS COLUMBUS – Area Vietnam Veteran’s Chapters gathered on March 29 in Columbus in honor of their service during the Vietnam War. Over 2.7 million Americans served in Vietnam. The average age of those not making it back to “the world” was 23.

Texas leads nation in jobs added
The Lone Star State continues to lead the nation in jobs added with 58,200 new positions in February, bringing the state to nearly 14 million total nonfarm jobs, according to the Texas Workforce Commission. February also marked two full years of uninterrupted job growth in the state.

Riding in style
When mentioning riding in style, one assumes it means riding in a big ol’ Caddie or Mercedes convertible with the wind blowing through the hair. That is not necessarily so in my case. Sure, it would be nice if I owned a Caddie, which I did, or a Mercedes convertible, which I did not own, but I did drive one if that counts. My riding’ in style is started on the back of a pickup.
