Friend to Friend program participants received mammograms
Twenty-seven participants from Austin County received their free mammogram from “The Rose” due to the Friendto- Friend program conducted in August. Friend to Friend was sponsored by the Austin County Family and Consumer Sciences Advisory Board and adapted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Exten sion Service as a best-practice program to encourage women to be screened on a yearly basis. The event was co-hosted with the assistance of the Texas Department of State Health Services. Our efforts continue to support the premise and importance of early detection which we know will ultimately make a difference that will save lives.
