Flatonia Bulldogs makes first ever basketball state tournament
The Flatonia boys basketball team clinched a birth to their first state basketball tournament in school history with a 65-54 win against Thorndale High School March 4. This team has been dominant all year under head coach Chris Sodek and this isn't Sodek's first time at the state tournament. The Lady Cardinals struggled to get their offense going throughout this game and Holliday's shooting accuracy was on, along with their ability to crash the boards and make layups. Bellville’s pitching was stellar and they were also able to work the pitcher while hitting the ball hard and finding gaps. FLATONIA - Shorthorns golfer Reid Janda accomplished the hardest feat in golf March 6 at the Flatonia golf tournament held at Flatonia Golf Course, an ace. According to Schulenburg High School head golf coach Rich Hoogendoorn, Janda hit a shot on the par 3 seventh hole that took one bounce and went in the hole.
