Fayetteville mercies D’Hanis in baseball
SAN MARCOS - Lions baseball won the first game of a playoff series with D'Hanis High School May 30 by a final score of 11-1 in five innings at Rattlers Field in San Marcos. Fayetteville scored right away and collected runs throughout the game while the pitching staff kept things intact. "With them, we always know it's gonna be a battle," said Fayetteville head baseball coach Clint Jaeger.

Bellville's Hatton resigns from head baseball duties; Morgan assigned position
Bellville High School head baseball coach Todd Hatton has resigned and assistant Ty Morgan has taken over the program. Hatton posted an overall record of 46-17-2 during his tenure at Bellville and it was reportedly his own decision to resign.

Weimar wins first game of state tourney vs Crawford
AUSTIN – The Weimar High School softball team traveled to University of Texas for the UIL State Softball Tournament and defeated Crawford High School in a rematch of the 2022 state semis by a final score of 3-0 May 30 at Red & Charline McCombs Field. The pitching was superb yet again and the Lady Wildcats were able to put their bats to good use early in the game as well.

Lions sweeps D’Hanis for second state tourney bid in three years
SAN MARCOS – The Fayetteville High School baseball team defeated D’Hanis High School June 1 at Bobcat Ballpark in the second game of a threegame series to head to their second state tournament in the last three years. It was evenly matched to start the event before Fayetteville unloaded their offense in the later part of the contest for a final score of 12-4.

Weimar softball walks it off in seventh inning vs Como-Pickton for state title
AUSTIN – Lady Cats softball won themselves a Class 2A state championship after threestraight appearances in the state tournament with a win against Como-Pickton High School May 31 at Red & Charline Mc- Combs Field by a final score of 4-3. Both teams went back and forth throughout this game and Weimar had the last laugh with a clutch hit in the bottom of the seventh inning to take home the state trophy.
