Last week I was driving down Travis Street in Columbus. Anytime I see the colors red or aqua, I always do a double take on what it might be. To my total shock, there was a young girl, maybe six or seven years old, on an aqua-colored electric scooter, not wearing a helmet. To make matters worse, she also had a young child, maybe three or four years old, sitting on the front handlebars and another younger child sitting on the back.

For the Texas House and Senate, there is not much daylight between each chamber’s priorities in this year’s legislative session.
