$30,000 grant for firefighting gear

AUSTIN COUNTY — A $30,000 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority and Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative will help the Industry Volunteer Fire Department purchase two muchneeded pieces of equipment: new and improved hydraulic rescue tools to extract crash victims from vehicles and new protective gear for firefighters.

Law enforcement gathered May 13 on the Colorado County Courthouse lawn for a memorial to publicly show their appreciation, and honor the law enforcement of Colorado County who died in the line of duty and support the current officers. Big Country Market postponed

COLUMBUS – The group of volunteers who put together the monthly Columbus Country Market, announced they’re again postponing their 2020 launch out of an abundance of caution. The Market, also known as “The Big One,” is normally held on the last Saturday of every month on the Courthouse Square in downtown Columbus.

LCRA makes $104,000 donation

AUSTIN — The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) has donated $104,000 to 52 food banks throughout the LCRA service area to help support communities during these challenging economic times. LCRA provided $2,000 to each of the 52 community food banks to help provide food to people in need.
