SCHULENBURG – Shots rang out and one lay dead for a deadly motive that Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek is not yet releasing. The deceased, Ricky Machicek, 64, of Schulenburg was shot by his son, Shane Machicek, 24, of Schulenburg on June 24 at about 9 p.m.

Scott joins AC SO Telecommunication

Wanted fugitive arrested
BELLVILLE – Isaac Carrizales, 17, was arrested on June 14 in Bellville by the US Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offender Task Force. Carrizales was wanted for murder, evading arrest, unlawful carrying of a weapon and organized criminal activity.

The FBI is warning the public of malicious actors creating synthetic content commonly referred to as “deep fakes” by manipulating benign photographs or videos to target victims. Technology advancements are continuously improving the quality, customizability, and accessibility of ar- tificial intelligence (AI)-enabled content creation. The FBI continues to receive reports from victims, including minor children and non-consenting adults, whose photos or videos were altered into explicit content. The photos or videos are then publicly circulated on social media or pornographic websites for the purpose of harassing victims or sextortion schemes.
