COLUMBUS - Brenda Boehm has been chosen as the Garden Angel for Columbus Garden Club 2023-24. Boehm has been in the garden club for 11 years. She routinely helps set up the club's meeting rooms, assists elderly members, plants pots and waters around the Colorado County Courthouse square in Columbus, and helps decorate down town for the Fall season as well as dec- orate the Colorado County Fairgrounds entrance for the Colorado County Fair. Recently, the Fayette County Emergency Medical Services, in conjunction with the Flatonia Police Department, sponsored a Tactical Emergency Casualty Care-Law Enforcement Offi - cer (TECC-LEO) Course. This course focuses on responders working to treat the injured during an active major event while the event is still ongoing. There are courses specifical - ly designed for EMS and re - sponders with medical training, but this course is designed for law enforcement to provide the knowledge and skills they need to provide immediate lifesaving care during an active threat event.
