Schulenburg and Brazos kick off volleyball season with scrimmage
SCHULENBURG – The Schulenburg High School volleyball team hosted a scrimmage August 4 at Shorthorns Gym that included teams such as Brazos, Halletsville, and La Grange. The basketball court was separated into two halves with volleyball courts and each team played 25 minute scrimmages, then would switch to their corresponding court to play a different team.

TGCA Pre-Season Volleyball Poll marks three area teams top 10
After making it all the way to the state tournament last year, Bellville (Class 4A), Columbus (Class 3A), and Schulenburg High School (Class 2A) volleyball teams have cracked the top 10 in the TGCA (Texas Girls Coaches Association) 2023 Pre-Season poll. This comes as no surprise with stellar seasons in ‘22, along with elite personnel still remaining for all three teams.

Brewers end Vets season
SEALY - The Vets traveled to Sealy to face the Brewers in the semi-finals of the playoffs. The Brewers jumped out to a 10-1 lead and never looked back. Single runs in the sixth and seventh ended the game for a final score of 12-2. SEALY – Rylan Crawley, a senior at Sealy High School and an active Boy Scout, completed a project that takes him closer to earning the coveted Eagle Scout award. His rendition of a fairy garden is amusing yet captivat - ing, where it is positioned just outside a large window at the Gordon Memorial Library in Sealy where countless kids gath - er to hear and read stories.
