Berclair Mansion holiday tour planned

GOLIAD — An unforgettable Holiday getaway is being hosted by the Casino Art Association Board and La Grange Main Street Sunday, Dec. 3 to the Berclair Mansion. The tour will leave La Grange at 8 a.m. and return by 5 p.m. The Mansion, which is outside of Goliad, will be decked out for the holidays and the trip will include a gourmet luncheon along with tours of the festive Mansion. Twenty-five plus vendors will also be on the grounds for holiday shopping at their Christmas Market You will step back in time at the Berclair Mansion and view pristinely preserved antiques that were collected by ranching heiress, Etta Wilkinson Terrell. This structure was built in 1936 by Terrell for herself and her four sisters. The entire structure is fireproof with 60 tons of cement and steel used and at the time it was believed to be the largest steel-strand home in the United States.
