Turtle Wing begins 13th year

Turtle Wing Foundations 12th year comes to a close. With the mission of "helping individuals with learning challenges in rural areas achieve their full potential by providing access to a shared network of emotional, educational, and therapeutic resources", the year has been one of true growth. From additional programs and providers, to serving more families, the foundation has worked every day to make sure that no family goes unassisted.

FC Habitat hosts Christmas coloring contest

The Fayette County Habitat for Humanity Christmas Coloring Contest is now open. No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win this contest. The contest is open to children in grades 1-6. Each entry consists of a completed, official coloring page. Color-ing pages can be downloaded at www.FayetteCountyHabitat. org/2023contest. One entry per person. Entries can be scanned and submitted via email to: info@FayetteCountyHabitat.org. Entries can also be mailed to P.O. Box 1127, La Grange, TX 78945. All of the entries will be separated into the following six brackets: 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade. Entries will be judged on originality, creativity, and whimsy. There will be six grand prizes.

Vehicle thefts continue in FC

Hit by a number of vehicle thefts for as many months, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office reported that there were stolen vehicles in the La Grange area Monday in the early hours of Oct. 2. A firearm was also stolen from a vehicle. The rash of vehicle thefts continues as the sheriff's office and local police departments grapple with these hit-and-run thefts.

NEW ARRIVALS

COLEMAN Chris Coleman and Dashae Collins of Columbus announce the birth of their son, Jeremiah Coleman, born Oct. 4 at 11:09 a.m. at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus. Jeremiah weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and measured 19 inches in length. He was welcomed home by his brother, Cason Coleman, 12; and his sister, Cole Coleman, 8. Grandparents are David and Odessa Collins of Columbus, and Ray and Deborah Coleman of Weimar.
