Local DAR Chapter Helps St. Anthony’s Celebrate Constitution Week

Constitution Week was Sept. 17-23, which commemorated the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by thirty-nine brave men on Sept. 17, 1787. To this end, the John Everett Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) helped St. Anthony's Catholic School celebrate this event by donating a replica Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence for their school library. Joan Hill, librarian, was ex - cited to add these documents to their repository. Additionally, small packets were assembled for each student in Danette Can - tu's eighth grade history class. These packets consisted of a US flag, patriotic button, pen, sticky notes, a Preamble bookmark, and a pamphlet on the Constitution and its Amendments. One of the largest patriotic women's organizations in the world, DAR promotes historic preservation, education and pa - triotism.
