Weimar softball walks it off in seventh inning vs Como-Pickton for state title
AUSTIN – Lady Cats softball won themselves a Class 2A state championship after threestraight appearances in the state tournament with a win against Como-Pickton High School May 31 at Red & Charline Mc- Combs Field by a final score of 4-3. Both teams went back and forth throughout this game and Weimar had the last laugh with a clutch hit in the bottom of the seventh inning to take home the state trophy.

Lions sweeps D’Hanis for second state tourney bid in three years
SAN MARCOS – The Fayetteville High School baseball team defeated D’Hanis High School June 1 at Bobcat Ballpark in the second game of a threegame series to head to their second state tournament in the last three years. It was evenly matched to start the event before Fayetteville unloaded their offense in the later part of the contest for a final score of 12-4.

Columbus football's Adam Schobel gaining Division One College interest
Adam Schobel is the starting quarterback for the Columbus High School football team and can put his throws on a dime. Schobel has led his team to deep playoff runs in each of his last two seasons and has captured the attention of division one col - lege coaches. Schobel currently has offers from University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), Sam Houston State, Oklahoma State, Houston, and Baylor.

Nedd signs to play baseball with Texas Lutheran
Garret Nedd, Sealy High School senior signed on to play baseball at Texas Lutheran University (TLU) on May 17 at Sealy High School in Sealy. Nedd was a three-year starter for the Tigers where he pitched and played shortstop. His senior year he had a 10-1 won-loss record and finished with a 0.83 earned run average.

Columbus and Fayetteville still alive in baseball; Weimar only softball team
The Columbus and Fayette- ville High School baseball teams, along with the Weimar High School softball team, are still standing in the playoffs with a three-game series to play to see who makes it to state. Each has made it to the regional final round. Colum bus baseball faces off with Santa Gertrudis Academy to- day (Thursday, May 25) and the time and place is still being determined.

GEORGETOWN - The Sealy High School baseball team was defeated by Navarro High School at East View High School in Georgetown in a two-game series by scores of 3-2 and 7-2. Sealy was able to take the lead one of the games on their very first at bat with a walk and a double to left field from senior Demarcus Thompson.

Fayetteville baseball keeps season alive
Lions baseball recently advanced in the postseason and have kept their playoff success on track as they defeated Medina High School May 11 in a double header by scores of 10-0 and 12-5. The Fayetteville offense has been scorching hot in crunch time as nearly the entire lineup recorded a hit in game one. In game two, the standouts were Lawson Fritsch and Travis Gully, who drove in five RBI's combined.
