COLUMBUS – What started as a three-kilowatt, Class A radio facility in 1972 now puts out 6,000 watts of power at its location off Highway 71 North in Columbus. Owner John L. Labay received permission from the Federal Communications Commission for a construction permit to build a new facility to house the radio equipment and offices in August of 1973. It has been revealed that there are even more powerlifters from the tri-county area who will compete in the state powerlifting meet. Rice has three lifters who quali- fied in Vanessa Marquez, Raegan Nelson, and Bradi Freeman. Maruqez is in the 114 weight class with a squat of 295, bench press of 120, and 260 deadlift for a 675 total. Nelson is in the 132 weight class with a squat of 300, bench press of 140, and 300 deadlift for a 740 total. “Tourist Town”
My husband, Peter, and I are staying in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, which is, according to a lot of folks, a tourist town. Sometimes, the person saying this means it is not a place they would want to spend time. This puzzles me. I'm not sure why a town known for meatpacking or manufacturing would be a better place to spend time than a town known for tourism. But I respect anyone's right to spend time wherever they want, and Peter and I are happy in San Miguel, in large part because it is a tourist town. 03/22/2023 23:00
