The Behavioral Health Task Force of Greater Colorado Valley met via Zoom on Jan. 13 to set the pace for 2022. This task force singularly focused on creating, developing, and expanding behavioral health services for a truly targeted approach to helping an individual to access the best services available to them. Because of such an array of services over a broad geographical area, services that are untapped by the person needing behavioral services.
We celebrate the anniversary of the first COVID-19 vaccines this winter—and progress in controlling the virus. With vaccines readily available and recommended for everyone age 5 years and older, more people are traveling and returning to school and work.
Several dozen school districts across the state were forced to close last week due to the omicron variant of COVID-19 sending home students, staff and teachers. Most school districts planned to reopen on Tuesday following the MLK holiday.
The 87th Texas Legislature passed 23 bills during the regular session, which ended in May, 2021, that went into effect in Texas on Jan. 1, 2022. The wide range of bills impact homestead exemption taxes for disabled veterans to large cities wanting to reduce funding for law enforcement agencies.
