Fayette County EMS posts record year in 2021

Fayette County EMS (FCEMS) has responded to over 4,000 calls for service, a record year for the department. Of those calls, almost 2,600 resulted in a patient being transported to the hospital. FCEMS responded to just under 1,000 calls for lift assistance or other types of calls that did not require medical treatment or transportation. The department provided standby assistance and medical services to police and fire departments at approximately 60 incidents.

Registration form shortage as deadline nears

Less than a week remains before the Jan. 31 deadline to register to vote in the March 1 primary. Fishin’ in the little pond

Fishin’ in the little pond

Back when I was growing up in Bernardo, I thought I loved to fish. There were two tanks. Yes, tanks. Ponds are for city folks. These two tanks were within walking distance of my home. One was across the road and in a pasture that you could see fish just jumping and playing and sticking their tongues out at me. The other tank was further back and was quite a large body of water. I didn’t think the small tank had as many fish in it as the larger one. I envisioned my stringer full of fish at the end of an hour. Well, hours passed and neither the small tank nor the large tank gave up its bounty of fish.
