ROUND ROCK – The Fayetteville baseball team made it to another state title game at Dell Diamond, but went down in the 2024 UIL Class 1A State Semifinal championship game. By Coach Larry “Bear” Kana WEIMAR – The Weimar Vets hosted the Shiner Clippers Sunday at Strickland Field in Weimar to pick up the win 17-12. After being down 2-1 from the first inning, the Vets outscored the Clippers 12-1 the next four innings. The Clippers battled back to close the gap to 13-8, but the Vets basically put the game away in the eighth, scoring four runs. Leading the offensive attack was Alex Angerstein- triple, double, two singles, five RBI's, two HBP's, five runs scored, two SB’s. 06/12/2024 23:00

The Columbus High School football team is known for winning at an elite level and it looks as though they’ll continue the same path in the ’24 season. Head coach Matt Schobel is a proven winner, NFL veteran, and loves his alma mater as a former Cardinal. He also has is son, Adam, who’s an incoming junior at quarterback and throws a nearly perfect ball out of the backfield. Brahmanettes volleyball will be ready for another shot at the state tournament come August as they’ve been to the dance in previous years under hall of fame head coach Susan Brewer. They’ll also have outside hitter Sydney McKay, who brings energy to the team along with pure athleticism and even has college ball potential. PRAHA – Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reported on June 5, the Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Praha. The unit had received complaints in reference to narcotics trafficking from this particular residence. LA GRANGE – The Fayette County Country Music Club will host a special Opry show featuring the opry band members Monday, June 17 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange. The show starts at 7 p.m., and the doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $8. Mark Lehmann has been with the opry since its inception.
