Bellville sophomore pitcher Ella Burnett tossed a gem and didn't allow Wharton to do much of anything at the dish. "I think I did pretty good," Burnett said. "I would say that when our de - fense is on, it's on. When we play as a team, it's just great because I love being out there when my defense is working with me. I'm a ground ball pitcher, so I get a lot of ground balls. When my de - fense is working, I think we just play great out there." Bellville took an early 2-0 lead in their very first at bat, then added their third run in the bot - tom of the third inning, which was scored by Burnett on a liner to left field from junior infielder Katie Falk. A successful bunt put runners on second and third later in the inning. This was followed
